When you hire a contractor for your roofing project, you expect their company to do the work, right? Well, some companies use subcontractors to assist them. A subcontractor is a person who is not a direct employee of a company that assists on a project. This can sometimes mean that your roof will be repaired quicker, but it can also open the door for setbacks.
Jupiter Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc. does not use subcontractors. Here is why:
Quality Standards – At Jupiter Roofing, we train our employees the way we know best. We teach our roofers our methods and values and hold them to this. A company cannot guarantee that all subcontractors will be trained the way they want.
Locus of Control – A subcontractor may report to the project manager on site, but their real allegiances and authority come from their parent company. This moves the locus of control away from Jupiter Roofing, meaning we cannot ensure their quality.
Costs – Sometimes, using subcontractors can be cheaper. When it comes to roofing, however, we think it adds costs. Our team is knowledgeable and skilled enough to do the job the right way, so we will use our own employees to save you money.
